Venus charm necklace
The Venus charm is inspired by ancient coins. Each charm is individually hand cast and finished using the ancient method of sand casting. Each charm differs slightly, as each pour is unique and the process of sand casting creates variation by nature. The Venus charm is chunky, height of 1.” Available in bronze or silver.
Each charm can be purchased individually or as a necklace.
As a necklace, each charm comes on a 18” standard cable chain, in either 14k gold fill or sterling silver.
These items are made to order, please 1-2 weeks for the item to be made prior to shipping.
The Venus charm is based on Stone Age ‘venus’ figurines. Believed at times to be calendars, ritual items, goddesses, charms, effigies, symbols of survival in harsh ice age climates, these venus figurines have been discovered all over the world. I think what calls to many about the Venus figure though, is that an early depiction of something that could be a mother goddess speaks to a time far beyond the grasp of human memory. A time where maybe we once had something other than a model of society focused on a culture of capital and domination. And what could our world have been like if we had culturally evolved in a different way.
